In this project as well, Playersjourney was involved in all project phases. Snapture! is a completely innovative AR application with a groundbreaking concept that has not been implemented in this form in a museum context. Players choose a current, challenging theme and receive corresponding image excerpts of sculptures from the Bode Museum's collection. This could be a floating head, a hairstyle without a face, or a solitary leg - in any case, something is missing to complete the motif. Now the players are called to action: wherever they are, they use their smartphones to search for a suitable background image. They integrate the historical sculptures into their current everyday environment, moving and scaling them. This creates unique collages with the appropriated sculptures, further enhanced with titles and stylish color filters. Everyday life and art amalgamate into something truly new. And that is not so easy: the players must study the sculpture excerpts closely, imagine how they could complete them, and creatively experiment with the perspective in their surroundings. Not only do the sculptures come alive in this way, but the surrounding everyday space is also seen through new eyes. The results are funny, unusual, and very 'Instagrammable'. The sculptures can gradually be unlocked through their parts, sparking curiosity for a visit to the museum. There is also a 'class mode', specially designed for school classes, where results can be shared and discussed.
